Owner of giant Santa Claus sought

Police in County Durham are appealing for help to reunite a giant Santa Claus with its owner.

The 7ft fibre-glass figure was found in a back road at Mountsett, near Dipton in Stanley on Sunday.

A police spokesman said that given its size it was likely to belong to some sort of commercial premises.

However, there had not been any reports of such a figure being stolen or lost. He asked anyone with any information to contact them.
