Firefighters tackle factory blaze

Dozens of firefighters have been tackling a huge blaze at a company in Tyne and Wear.

Smithers Oasis UK Limited makes the foam used in flower arranging at its site on the Crowther Industrial Estate in Washington.

Between 30 to 40 cubic metres of the foam caught light outside the factory.

About 100 people work at the site. No-one was injured in the fire which broke out at 1430 BST on Tuesday. Fire crews remain in attendance.
