Teenager charged over stab death

A teenager has been charged with murder after a man was found fatally stabbed on a street in County Durham 200 yards from his home.

Anthony Blakelock, 21, from Cook Crescent in Murton was found by police in the Barnes Road area of the town at about 0400 BST on Saturday.

He was taken by ambulance to Sunderland Royal hospital where he died.

An 18-year-old man is due to appear at Peterlee Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with his murder.

Friends of Mr Blakelock described him as "loving and caring" as they laid flowers at the scene.
