Police stations to get a facelift

Two police stations in County Durham are about to undergo a facelift.

The improvements at Crook and Seaham are the first stage of a £465,000 operation to improve access for all members of the public.

The designs will include bigger reception areas, drop counters for wheelchair users, hearing loops and new and improved notice boards.

Work starts on 26 August and will last for four weeks, during which there will be no access to the stations.

However, there will be an external call point at the station entrances through which people can get advice and report crime.
