Pair charged over armed robbery

Two men have been charged following an armed robbery at a post office in County Durham.

The men, aged 20 and 29, are charged in connection with an incident at Moorside Post Office, in Consett, on Thursday.

Staff reported a handgun was brandished before masked raiders escaped with a small amount of cash. No-one was hurt.

Durham Police said the two were due to appear before magistrates later. A man and woman, who were also questioned, were released.
