Crisps blaze at Walkers factory
Firefighters in County Durham tackled a blaze in an industrial skip containing five tonnes of crisps.

Crews were called to the Walkers Crisps factory in Stephenson Road, Peterlee, on Wednesday morning, following reports the waste products were "well alight".

County Durham Fire Service said two fire crews from Peterlee station extinguish the blaze, which was reported at 0738 GMT.

Nobody has been hurt and production was unaffected, a Walkers spokesman said.

No details about the cause of the fire have been released at this stage.
