Pair admit disabled man's murder
Brent Martin
Mr Martin suffered from learning difficulties
Two people have admitted beating a disabled man to death.

William Hughes, 21, of Washington Road, Sunderland, and a 16-year-old youth, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to the murder of Brent Martin, 23.

Mr Martin died in hospital after being found with multiple injuries in Baxter Road, Sunderland, on 23 August, 2007.

The defendants changed their pleas when they appeared at Newcastle Crown Court. A third youth, aged 17, denies murdering Mr Martin.

A 47-year-old woman will also go on trial accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

A jury will be sworn in on Tuesday.
