A boy has been quizzed by police after three people were hurt in a series of crashes in a residential street.
Police believe the 15-year-old was driving a Ford Focus involved in the crashes in Quarrington Hill, Co Durham.
The Ford hit a car and as it reversed it ran over a 59-year-old man who was walking in Hawthorn Crescent, leaving him with skull and leg injuries.
The Ford was then driven into a car parked on a driveway, injuring a man and woman who were sitting inside.
A Durham Police spokesman said it was lucky no-one had been more seriously injured in the collisions on Thursday afternoon.
Two bailed
He said the youth had fled the scene but was traced to a house a short distance away.
The boy and a 21-year-old man, who were both travelling in the Ford, were arrested and later released on bail.
The spokesman said: "This was a very serious incident and it is lucky no-one sustained life-threatening injuries.
"We are keen to speak to any witnesses."
Parked on driveway
Officers said the crashes began when the Ford mounted a footpath and hit a parked, unattended car, pushing it into a garden wall.
It then reversed on to the road hitting the 59 year-old man who was walking near to his house.
The car then mounted the opposite footpath and collided with a Renault Clio parked on a driveway with two people inside.
A 45-year-old man and his wife, who live on the street, were both taken to the University Hospital of North Durham.
The woman suffered minor cuts was later released, while her husband is still being treated for a head injury and damaged lungs.
