Nissan Qashqai
The Qashqai was launched by Nissan in February
Car giant Nissan is taking on an extra 100 workers at its Wearside production plant after the successful launch of its new model, the Qashqai.

More than 4,300 people are already employed at the Sunderland factory, where five models are now being built.

Production of the Qashqai began in December with vehicles going on sale this month.

Last week, Nissan announced the Sunderland plant had made 4.5m cars since production started 20 years ago.
