The snake was first seen on a public cycleway
A snake expert was called into action when a python was spotted slithering into bushes in County Durham.

The six-feet long creature had been glimpsed on a cycle bridge across the Washington highway on Friday.

However, it escaped capture before being seen again at the Wear Industrial Estate on Saturday.

The snake keeper, who lived nearby, managed to catch it before the python was collected from his home by an RSPCA officer.
