Vandals caused damage valued at thousands of pounds during a wrecking spree at a vehicle compound.
The vandal, or vandals, scaled the metal fence at Anderson and Young coachworks in Wallnook Lane, Langley Park, County Durham, on Saturday.
Twelve Nissan Micras in the courtesy car parking area were vandalised with windows smashed, bodywork damaged and obscenities scratched on to panels.
The damage caused was estimated at between £10,000 and £15,000.
Durham Police said there were no attempts to start any of the cars or move them.
When the intruder or intruders moved to the customer car parking area of the compound, they triggered an alarm.
House to house inquiries have been carried out in the area and searches made to find the implement used to damage the cars.
