Man's body discovered in village
The body of a man has been found near a County Durham village.

Durham Police said the body was found in Stockley Beck, in the Brancepeth area, on Saturday morning.

He was described as more than 6 feet tall, with dark brown hair and blue eyes, and was wearing a navy jacket, pale yellow trousers and walking boots.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting this description or any activity, particularly on a disused railway line nearby, to contact them.

It is thought the body may have been there for more than three days.
