Weather warning issued to drivers in Northumberland

Police in Northumberland have urged motorists to be careful on the roads due to poor visibility and weather conditions.

They said heavy rainfall had led to standing water lying on many of the region's roads.

The A1114 Colliery Road was closed on Tuesday evening due to flooding at Ravensworth.

Flood warnings issued by the Environment Agency included Waren Burn at Waren Mill and Wansbeck at Morpeth.

There were also warnings along the North East coast.
