Map of Fenwick

Police are investigating after the discovery of human remains in a garden in Northumberland.

A jaw bone was found by a member of the public on Saturday afternoon in the Fenwick area, between Matfen and Stamfordham.

Detectives have since found a number of other human remains in the same area over the weekend.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said forensic investigations were taking place, including carbon dating tests.
