Tree crash death passenger named

Police have released the name of a 19-year-old passenger killed when a car struck a tree in Northumberland.

Liam Charles Hawley from Morpeth died in the incident on the A197 between Morpeth and Pegswood at Whorral Bank early on Thursday.

The male driver and two other male passengers were also seriously injured and taken to Wansbeck Hospital.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or who may have seen the blue Renault Megane to contact them.
