The brothers are yet to break into the UK Top 10 singles chart

US boy band The Jonas Brothers have hosted a special music lesson for 200 pupils at a Tyneside school. Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas visited Ryton Comprehensive School in Gateshead to pass on tips on learning guitar and song arranging. The trip was part of the government's Tune In - Year of Music campaign which aims to inspire young musicians. The three brothers said they were excited to be given the chance to share their "passion" for the subject. Kevin Jonas said: "We hope to inspire kids to pick up an instrument if they have never done so before or to practice more if they already know how to play." The clean-cut band, which has so far failed to break into the UK top 10 singles chart, has attracted a large teenage following by staring in Disney films such as Camp Rock. Steve Williamson, head teacher at the school, said "We are very proud to have The Jonas Brothers come to our school today. "Ryton runs a number of extra-curricular music activities and I hope that The Jonas Brothers coming to the school will inspire more children to get involved in music." The group was set to play at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena following the visit.
