In the DVD Sir Bobby recalls dealing with the antics of Paul Gascoigne
The late Sir Bobby Robson would have been "truly honoured" by a film of his life story, his family said.
A DVD called A Knight To Remember was launched in Newcastle to raise cash for the former Newcastle and England manager's cancer charity.
It features tributes from stars like Paul Gascoigne, Ant and Dec and Sir Bobby Charlton as well as interviews with Sir Bobby in his final months.
He died in July at home in County Durham aged 76.
The film was launched at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle and moved many in the audience to tears as Sir Bobby spoke bravely about his battle with the disease.
It also raised laughs, particularly when Gascoigne and Sir Bobby fondly reminisced in separate interviews about the Italia 90 World Cup.
'Emotional side'
Sir Bobby was famed for forgetting footballers' names, but in the DVD Alan Shearer questions whether this was a ruse to raise a laugh or trick people into thinking he was off-the-pace.
After the screening, Sir Bobby's son Andrew said: "I think he would have been astounded.
"He would really have enjoyed the footage, it covered many aspects of his life. I think he would have been truly honoured."
Shearer, a patron of the foundation which has now raised more than £2m, said: "The DVD has a bit of everything, there's a humorous side and there's definitely an emotional side.
"We are all absolutely delighted with the way it has all come off."
Sir Bobby's widow, Lady Elsie, said: "He would have loved it. He would have been proud and chuffed."
Actor Tim Healy, who teamed up with fellow Auf Wiedersehen Pet stars Jimmy Nail and Kevin Whately to sing a new version of the Blaydon Races for the DVD, said: "It was charming, funny and brought a tear to my eye. He was a wonderful man."
