Woman discovered unconscious dies

The woman was pronounced dead in hospital

A woman has died after being found unconscious in Northumberland, police have said.

The 40-year-old was discovered by an ambulance crew in Prudhoe's Carnaby Street on Friday night. She was taken to Hexham hospital and pronounced dead.

Northumbria Police are making inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone in the area between 2250 GMT and 2315 GMT, when the woman was found, should contact the force.
