Bogus goods worth £100,000 seized

Three people have been arrested and suspected counterfeit goods worth £100,000 seized at two Tyneside houses.

The handbags and clothing, with logos including Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren, were found during raids in Westmoor and Byker on Wednesday.

A 57-year-old man and two women, aged 48 and 54, were arrested on suspicion of money laundering and offences relating to counterfeit items.

They have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Northumbria police said they carried out the raids after following up information uncovered with the help of financial investigators.
