Lorry death 'devastates' family

The family of a woman who died when she was hit by a lorry have told of their "devastation" at her death.

Josephine Lamb, 58, died from head injuries when she was struck near her home in Wardley Lane, Gateshead, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Mrs Lamb had two children and eight grandchildren.

A 47-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been bailed until 6 October, pending further inquiries.

A family statement, released on Wednesday, said: "As a family we are all completely devastated by the sudden loss of our mother, grandmother and sister."
