A teenager who was critically injured in a boating accident in Northumberland has died, police have said.
Victoria Wilkinson, 17, was in a dinghy that capsized when it was hit by a gust of wind at Kielder Water reservoir on Sunday afternoon. She died on Tuesday.
Her father Geoff, 52, from Kirkwhelpington, near Hexham, suffered a heart attack and died after trying to rescue his daughter.
They were racing in an event organised by Kielder Water Sailing Club.
They were lifted from the water by a rescue boat and treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in Newcastle, where Mr Wilkinson died on Sunday.
Mr Wilkinson was a solicitor at Cumbria County Council.
Steve Gibbon, commodore of the Kielder Water Sailing Club (KWSC), said the accident had left the club in shock and that members were praying for the Wilkinson family.
