Man arrested following stabbing

A man has been arrested following the stabbing of a 24-year-old man in Newcastle, police said.

Officers were called to Clipstone Avenue in Walker after reports of a knife incident on Saturday afternoon.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for injures described as non-life threatening.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and inquiries are ongoing, a spokesman for Northumbria Police said.
