Man dies at Swan Hunter shipyard

A man has died at the Swan Hunter shipyard on North Tyneside.

Kenneth Joyce, 55, from Lanchester, Durham died from head and neck injuries, a post mortem examination revealed.

Emergency services were called to the yard on Station Road in Wallsend on Tuesday afternoon.

Northumbria Police said they were leading an investigation into the death of Mr Joyce, and were working closely with the Health and Safety Executive.
