Park hosts winter art exhibition

Artworks inspired by fairy tales are to go on display at a Gateshead park as part of a winter festival.

National and international artists have created works based on winter stories which will light up parts of Saltwell Park for 10 nights.

More than 6,000 free tickets have been handed out for the Enchanted Parks event, which is due to begin on Thursday night.

It is part of the 2008 Winter Festival from the NewcastleGateshead Initiative.
