Valuable pigeons stolen in raid

More than 30 valuable pigeons worth 1,300 have been stolen during a raid in South Tyneside.

The 36 birds, which were of different breeds including Saxon Spots, were stolen from two lofts in East View, Boldon Colliery, on Thursday.

Northumbria Police are asking for anyone involved in the pigeon racing world to get in touch if suspicious of any birds offered to them for sale.

They are also urging any witnesses to the theft to get in touch.
