Jury out in family murder trial

A jury at Newcastle Crown Court has retired to consider its verdict in the trial of a father accused of murdering four members of his family.

Neil Crampton is accused of killing his ex-partner Funke Sobo, 36, his daughter Abigail, 12, his son Steven, 5, and his ex-partner's brother Yemi Sobo, 44.

The four were found with multiple stab and slash wounds at their home in Kenton, Newcastle, on 14 November 2006.

Mr Crampton, 36, of Huntley Crescent, Gateshead, denies murder.
