Laptop stolen by youth with knife

A police investigation has begun after a teenager used a knife to steal a laptop computer from a man walking along a street in Newcastle.

The 29-year-old was on Westbourne Road in Walker when he was approached by the youth on a BMX-type bike.

The man was threatened with what police said was a kitchen knife and had his laptop stolen on Friday night.

Anyone with information or has been offered a black Dell computer laptop has been asked to contact Byker CID.

The youth is described as being about 17 years old, with dark hair.

He escaped along Welbeck Road.
