A helicopter from RAF Boulmer took part in the rescue
|
Three children had to be winched to safety by helicopter from an island in a Northumberland river.
The two boys, aged 14 and 10, and a nine-year-old girl, had become stranded in the middle of the River Coquet, at Coquet Vale just below Felton Bridge.
Emergency services attended the scene on Friday afternoon but were unable to reach the children due to the fast flowing water.
They were eventually rescued by a helicopter from RAF Boulmer.
No-one was injured and the youngsters have now been reunited with their parents.
