Probe after fatal cottage blaze

A man has died after a blaze broke out in a cottage in Northumberland.

Firefighters were called to the Bow Well cottages in Norham, Berwick, on Saturday night after neighbours raised the alarm.

But by the time fire crews arrived the property was already well alight and the man's body was recovered from the living room of the cottage.

A spokesman for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service said the priority was now to establish what caused the fire.
