Oil painting worth 15,000 stolen

Floral Blouse

An oil painting by a Spanish impressionist worth 15,000 has been stolen from an art gallery.

The painting, Floral Blouse, by the modern artist Jose Royo, was taken from Tallantyres Art Gallery in Newgate Street, Morpeth, Northumberland.

Northumbria Police believe the thieves posed as customers before taking the painting off the wall and escaping via a fire exit on Saturday afternoon.

The distinctive, colourful painting is 50cm (19.7in) by 65cm (27.5in).
