Man held over woman's stab death

A 36-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was discovered stabbed to death in a house on Tyneside.

Police believe the victim is Nicola Morrin, 26, although she has not yet been formally identified.

The body was discovered at the property in Bramwell Court, Gosforth, in the early hours of Wednesday.

The man was arrested at the address and is being questioned on suspicion of murder. He is currently in hospital receiving treatment for injuries.
