Police CSO is hurt by mini moto

A police community support officer (CSO) was hurt when a mini moto bike ran over his foot on a Tyneside estate.

Northumbria Police said the incident happened on Friday, as the officer was investigating the use of bikes on Newcastle's Newbiggin Hall estate.

A 19-year-old man was later arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and released on police bail.

A force spokesman said the officer involved was not seriously hurt. Investigations are continuing.
