Closure order at drug arrests pub

A South Tyneside pub has been issued with a closure order after police raided the premises and made several drugs-related arrests.

Northumbria Police targeted the Commando pub, on Market Place in South Shields, on Friday evening.

Those arrested were due to be questioned by detectives on Saturday, a force spokesman said.

The closure order also relates to suspected breaches of licensing regulations at the pub.
