Work on new skate park under way

Work on new skate park as part of a £16m regeneration of a North Tyneside town has begun.

The new facility in the Panama Dip at The Links is part of North Tyneside Council's revamp of Whitley Bay.

The park has been designed in consultation with skateboarders, BMX users and rollerbladers.

It will incorporate two bowls, ramps, driveways and walls. The transformation of the Spanish City area and the seafront is also well under way.
