Missing 5ft snake found under bed
Boa constrictor (generic)
Police said the snake was found safe and well
A 5ft (1.52m) boa constrictor reported missing from a family home in Newcastle more than two weeks ago has been found under its owner's bed.

An alert saying the Colombian rainbow species had escaped from the property in Byker was issued on 13 February.

At the time, police said the reptile, called Shakira, was not dangerous but could intimidate residents in the area.

The pet was found safe and well in its owner's bedroom on Friday, a spokesman for Northumbria Police said.
