10-turbine windfarm plan rejected
Plans to create a 10-turbine windfarm in rural Northumberland have been rejected by Berwick Council.

Energy firm RidgeWind Ltd wanted to erect the 125m (410ft) turbines at Wandylaw, near Ellingham.

The company had said the scheme would generate enough electricity to power up to 16,700 homes.

On Tuesday, the planning committee refused the proposals, citing potential visual impact as well as possible interference with military radars.
