Man, 31, charged over stab death

The area was sealed off for forensic tests
A 31-year-old man has been charged with murdering another man who was found dying in a house on North Tyneside.

Christopher Blacklock was discovered with serious injuries in Cardonnel Street, Willington Quay, North Shields, on Wednesday night. He died later.

A post mortem examination on the 32-year-old found he died of head injuries and stab wounds.

David Proctor, of Cardonnel Street, has been charged with his murder. He is due in court on Friday morning.

Extra community police officers will be patrolling the area over the next few days to reassure the public, police said.
