Four quizzed in stab death probe
John Hudson
Mr Hudson's body was found in a first-floor flat
A man whose body was found at a Newcastle flat died of stab wounds, a post-mortem examination has shown.

John Hudson, 48, of Clarks Hill Walk, Newburn, was found in the village's Millfield Close on Sunday after a man walked into Etal Road police station.

The 41-year-old is being questioned on suspicion of murder. A man and two women were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The death was an "isolated incident", according to Northumbria Police.

Insp Jan Harrison said: "We recognise that incidents like this heighten concerns for members of the public.

Forensic team at Millfield Close

"However, it would appear this is an isolated incident between people who knew each other and not a random attack on a stranger.

"Over the next few days extra police officers and community support officers will be on patrol in the area providing reassurance to the local community and addressing any concerns they have.

"On behalf of the investigating team I would ask anyone who knows anything to please contact police."

The force has appealed for anyone in the area between Saturday night and 1100 BST on Sunday to come forward.
