A Hollywood action movie actor is bringing his musical talents to the stage on Tyneside.

Steven Seagal, better known for his martial arts skills in his films, is currently on tour with his blues band Thunderbox.

The star of films such as Under Siege and The Patriot will be appearing at the Tyne Theatre in Newcastle on Wednesday night.

It is part of his two-month tour of towns and cities throughout the UK.

The 55-year-old released his first album in 2005. A mix of pop, world and blues, it features a duet with Stevie Wonder.

The tour is in support of his second album, Mojo Priest.

A spokesman said: "If you think that Steven is good at beating the bad guys on film, just wait till you hear him on guitar.

"His accomplished musicianship sets him apart from his contemporaries in the acting business who have tried their hand at music."
