Police investigating the death of a grandmother in a road crash have appealed for bus passengers who were in the area at the time to come forward.
Pamela Phinn, 48, was knocked down and killed in Horsley Hill Road, South Shields, on Thursday afternoon.
Officers said the area was busy with buses at the time of the crash.
Paul Wales, 47, of Gorst Street, Liverpool, was remanded in custody charged with causing death by dangerous driving on Saturday.

He is also accused of robbery, criminal damage and driving offences.
Mrs Phinn's two grandchildren and the children's mother, 29, were also hurt.
Police want to speak to anyone who was on a bus in Western Approach, Westoe Road or Horsley Hill at about 1410 BST when a silver Honda Civic drove through the area.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating the incident as the vehicle involved was being followed by a marked police car at the time.
