Michael Grey
Michael Grey died more than a week after being attacked
Police investigating the murder of a care worker on Tyneside four weeks ago have arrested a third man.

Michael Grey suffered a head injury in an attack on Ellesmere Road in Benwell, Newcastle, on 11 November and died in hospital over a week later.

A 23-year-old Gateshead man was arrested on Tuesday and is currently being questioned by detectives.

A 32-year-old man and a 22-year-old man have already been arrested and bailed in connection with Mr Grey's murder.

He was assaulted in the area between the Plaza Tavern pub and the post office at the top of Ellesmere Road in Newcastle.

Police would still like to hear from the man and woman who came to help Mr Grey following the assault.

They are also appealing for the family, two teenage girls and the young man caught on CCTV walking from Newcastle General Hospital to the Plaza Tavern to come forward.
