Family members, friends and colleagues have been remembering Ashok Kumar at a memorial service on Teesside.

The Labour MP was found dead at his Middlesbrough home on Monday. A post-mortem examination revealed he died of natural causes.

The 53-year-old had represented Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland since 1997.

Tributes were paid to the MP during the service at Guisborough Methodist Church earlier.

Following his death, Gordon Brown said Mr Kumar would be "sorely missed" while David Cameron called him a "great representative".

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg described him as an "absolutely first class" MP.
