Man trapped under cliffs by tide

A man was rescued when he became trapped beneath cliffs on Teesside by the high tide.

Lifeboat crews and coastguard officials were alerted when the man got into difficulties at Huntcliff in Saltburn on Saturday evening.

He was eventually rescued by a coastguard shore party after spending several hours at the scene.

The RNLI warned people to be aware of darker evenings with the end of British Summer Time.
