A bar on Teesside has been badly damaged by a fire.

At the height of what was described as a major incident, nine fire crews were tackling the blaze at the Hide Bar and Grill on Yarm's High Street.

The building was empty when it began early on Sunday morning, but an adjoining property had to be evacuated.

Cleveland Fire Service said an investigation would take place into the cause of the fire, although it is not believed to be suspicious.
