Man charged with attempted murder

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a pedestrian was struck by a taxi on Teesside.

The 46-year-old suffered serious leg injuries in the incident in Leighton Road, Grangetown, early on Saturday. He remains in hospital.

A 35-year-old local man is due to appear before Teesside Magistrates' Court later.

Police also arrested another man, 33, earlier in connection with the incident.
