A former Teesside nightclub boss who has been on the run for more than 10 years has been rearrested by police.

Gary Robb, 46, fled to northern Cyprus in 1997 after his Colosseum club in Stockton was raided by drugs officers the previous year.

There is no extradition treaty with northern Cyprus.

On Wednesday Mr Robb, and his 70-year-old mother Mavis, were arrested at Stansted Airport. Both are due before Teesside Crown Court later.

After his arrest on Wednesday by officers from Cleveland Police, Mr Robb was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

His mother was charged with offences under the Drug Trafficking Act.
