Asbestos-filled vacuums stolen

Police have issued a warning after vacuum cleaners containing asbestos were stolen from a college on Teesside.

Burglars broke into Redcar and Cleveland College and stole the yellow and black industrial cleaners on Tuesday night.

Pc Phil Darbison of Cleveland Police warned people not to buy them if offered for sale and not to open them.

Asbestos is a potentially hazardous substance that can cause serious illnesses like lung cancer.
