Pc's leg broken by off-road biker

A policeman's leg was broken when he was hit by an off-road motorcycle in Middlesbrough.

The constable was on foot patrol with a colleague in the Grassington Road area of the town on Wednesday evening when he was injured.

The officer, who needed emergency surgery, was hit as he tried to stop the bike, police said.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said two men, aged 18 and 21, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
