Woman, 101, in care home battle

Sarah Rutter
The family of 101-year-old Sarah Rutter believe the move could kill her

The family of a 101-year-old woman fighting to remain in a Teesside care home have won a High Court injunction to prevent her being moved.

Stockton Council is in the process of closing Parkview care home in Thornaby where Sarah Rutter, who has dementia, is now the sole resident.

The council has said the move would be in her best interests but her family believe it could kill her.

There will be a judicial review of the case at the High Court on Friday.

In a statement, the council said it was disappointed by the outcome.

It added: "The matter will be back before the judge on Friday and Mrs Rutter cannot therefore be moved before then."
