Street attack manslaughter plea

A man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of an office worker who died more than a week after an assault on a Teesside street.

Gavin Robinson, 30, was attacked in Thornaby, on 14 June and died in hospital nine days later.

Richard Wyatt, from Roseberry View in the town, admitted the charge at Teesside Crown Court on Friday.

The 23-year-old was remanded for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced on 2 October.

Mr Robinson, of Derby Terrace in Thornaby, was an accounts clerk with Hartlepool Council.
